Gary Smith is 55 years old and calls the Pacific Northwest home. He and his wife Marilyn have traveled to nearly 50 countries including many islands. He has worked in a variety of occupations including; apprentice machinist, landscaper, produce salesman, horse groom, long-haul truck driver, airline pilot, now a documentary filmmaker and travel lecturer. A wanderer at heart, he has hitchhiked across half of the United States sleeping under overpasses, driven a motorcycle sidecar to Tierra del Fuego Argentina, Deadhorse Alaska across to Goose Bay Labrador down to Key West Florida. and piloted his motor vessel across the Colombia River Bar to Juneau, Alaska and back. When he isn't traveling, he's thinking about it.
